I would like to offer a sincere thank you to all those who were involved in last evening’s Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Trinity. From those who prepared the Sanctuary to the Lectors and to all the musicians and thanks to the power of the Holy Spirit, the proclamation that occurred was incredibly strong, wonderfully heartfelt, and truly beautiful. For me there were many, many favorite moments. Besides the Woodwind Ensemble, the Bells of Joy, the Brass Ensemble, the Youth Choir, and the Sanctuary Choir, I would also like to thank our college musicians who, being back home for Christmas, joined the ranks of our ensembles once again.
I must also thank the directors of the ensembles and those who help with them: Ed Winkler and Laura Wahlmark, Trinity Woodwind Ensemble; Leigh Wiedelman and Betty Hohlfeld, Trinity Youth Choir; our Sanctuary Choir accompanist Debbie Markert; and my wife Marie who trained many of the participating children in our Kindermusik at Trinity training and outreach ministry.
And thanks also to all of you who came, sang with us, and joined in the Eternal Song of the Saints and the Angels: “Gloria in excelsis Deo!”
May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
