Today’s Verse of the Day from the YouVersion Bible really struck me. We tend to think that it is our “job” to rejoice in God and what He has done for us. But, here is a remarkable passage from the prophet Zephaniah that puts a different perspective on things.
The Lord your God is in your midst,
Zephaniah 3:17
a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.
The Lord our God rejoices over us? Wow!!! Reminds me of the parable of the Prodigal Son. Anything we do is rightly considered simply a response to how God feels about us and what He has done for us.
